    ​    Role: Application Support Engineer
    SFIA Skill Required: ASUP      
    Client: Commonwealth Agency
    Location: Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne.
    Start date: ASAP
    Contract Expiry: 12 and 24 month contracts will be considered as well as 12month extensions: to be negotiated
    Part time arrangements: Will be considered
    Clearance: Positive Vetting (PV) cleared contractors or non-PV cleared contractors capable of obtaining and maintaining a PV clearance.

    Role Description:
    The Application Support Engineer will design, implement, configure and administer IT applications to meet specific requirements compatible with agreed systems architectures, corporate standards and operational constraints. They will administer systems using appropriate tools and techniques that conform to agreed process standards and industry specific regulations. Working in a diverse team environment, this will involve sharing outcomes and experience with others to support development and growth. This role sits within the Analytic and Intelligent Technology team who provide corporate data science capabilities, and analytic and geospatial platforms.

    Required Skills:
    • Experience in sustainment of enterprise technology/systems in a medium to large enterprise.
    • Fundamentals of infrastructure (hardware, virtualisation, OS, networking)
    • Container orchestration and/or distributed computing fundamentals
    • Fundamentals of web services (TLS, networking protocols)
    Desirable Skills and Experience:
    • Administration and application support of Analytics applications (e.g. Palantir, ESRI ArcGIS, Tableau, PowerBI) Other Features of the role
    • Minimum 3 year’s system administrator experience. Desirable qualification: Tertiary qualification in a technology field.
