    Role: Cloud Solutions Architect AWS

    Client: Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) 
    Location: Russell (R5) Canberra
    A combination of Work from ASD Canberra Russell Offices and Work from Home may be considered.  The Service Provider must provide clarification of where the Candidate resides, ie. Suburb and City, and explanation for this request.  Any such arrangement MAY require a period (3-4 weeks) of full time engagement in Russell at the commencement of the contract.
    Start date: On or after 1st July 2022 
    Term: Contract terms between 12 & 24 months will be considered
    Part time arrangements: May be considered
    Clearance: Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV)

    Role Description:
    The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solution Architect will be responsible for the design and integration of AWS Cloud systems to meet specific needs. This will involve the integration of hardware and software for meeting the customer-defined purpose. Examination of current systems and architecture is additionally one of their responsibilities. They will work with technical and Development Team staff to create and implement solutions that meet business requirements.

     Major Responsibilities:
    • Conduct architectural analysis of existing AWS Cloud system and design migration strategies as an integral part of any new AWS Cloud Systems implementations.
    • Examine the current system of the client involving extreme analysis for the overall scope and the requirements of the project.
    • Ensure the delivery of strong system solutions that meet business requirements for AWS Cloud systems.
    • Develop, enhance, and maintain established process and procedure of service design for assuring appropriate and robust service design.
    • Work with the Technical Director and Development Team to ensure the architecture and strategic blueprints for business are complied with.
    • Plan, design, and execute complex company level solution configuration.
    • Prepare and present test plans, lab reports, technical presentations, and analyst briefings for covering different AWS Cloud solution areas.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensuring suitable translation of AWS architectural solutions into robust and effective implementation.
    • Identify the customer requirements, analyse the alternatives, and conduct product recommendations related to the platform, software, and network configurations

    ​Security Clearance:
    Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential. 

    Other Features: ​
    Role will require some travel between ACT facilities.

    Core Hours:
    Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day between the hours of 7am and 7pm, unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30 minute break after 5 hours consecutive work.
    Part-time arrangements may be considered.
