Role Description:
This RFQ is seeking contractor support for a Procurement Officer in support of a number of DEF100 Capability Elements. If all DEF100 positions are filled and there are suitable candidates still available, other AGO projects (with vacant roles) may utilise this round to fill their vacancies.
The Procurement Officer is a Project Support Officer who will work under general direction to assist several team leads in the delivery of the Project. Duties will include assisting with project procurement activities, including the management of assets once delivered and in-service. The incumbent will be required to function within broad guidelines and be willing to identify solutions to common administrative problems. They will need to be a self-starter and have an ability to work within strict timeframes.
The role will require project support skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.
The program of work has multiple projects which range in size. The successful candidate may be required to work across several of these.
Major Responsibilities:
With guidance from team leads, develop procurement documentation in accordance with Defence procurement rules.
Translate complex technical information into more general language, for use in procurement documentation, seeking advice from SMEs where necessary.
Carry out routine record keeping using the organisation’s electronic record keeping system.
Manage priorities and seek guidance on relative priorities where necessary.
Assist team leads with logging risks and issues.
Manage team action items to ensure objectives and processes are met.
Work cohesively with other project team staff in a program setting to support the project deliverables and team objectives.

Security Clearance:
Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.
Core Hours:
8 hours per day between the hours of 7am and 7pm
Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day, unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30 minute break after 5 hours consecutive work.
Part-time arrangements will be considered.
Other features of the role:
Ability to work in a high security environment with sensitivity reticence and discretion.
The role is based in Canberra with minimal travel.
