Role Description:
The Program Methodology Manager will support the Director Governance by providing best practice advice to CCSPO teams on all aspects of program and project methodology implementation. The role will provide essential advice to teams in tailoring methodologies to their scale and needs. The role will be the custodian of standard process templates and tools to support CCSPO-specific methodologies and work with PfMO on template and tools development. The role will plan, direct and coordinate the integration of methodologies within Portfolio processes and contribute to Project, Program and Portfolio (P3) uplift activities within CCSPO. Methodology analysis will be conducted as part of program assurance processes. Methodology advice will also be provided to projects in planning moving through to Defence Integrated Investment Program processes.
The Program Methodology Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a range of guidance material to support standardisation and continuous improvement of project management methodology. The intent is to provide a suite of useful project management procedures tailored to the ASD environment, which are founded on industry-accepted best practice. The role will also provide a professionalisation function across CCSPO projects, along with a project management discipline mentoring capability.
Major Responsibilities:
Implement pragmatic program and project management practices for the benefit of the SPO in a way that realises benefits, encourages collaboration, delivers efficiencies and provides an improvement in project results across the Group.
Provide best practice advice to CCSPO teams on all aspects of program and project methodology implementation and assist teams in tailoring methodologies to their scale and needs.
Drives and ensures integration of methodologies within Portfolio processes as well as Project, Program and Portfolio (P3) uplift activities within CCSPO.
Conduct methodology analysis as part of program assurance processes and provide methodology advice to projects in planning moving through to Defence IIP process.
Develop and maintain a range of guidance material and templates to support standardisation and continuous improvement of project management methodology.
Develop an On Job Training (OJT) program that ensures participants’ project management knowledge grows in alignment with ASD needs and contemporary project management practices.

Security Clearance:
Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.

The roles are based in Canberra with minimal travel.
