    Role Description:
    This RFQ is seeking contractor support for Storage Engineer roles in support of a number of DEF100 Capability Elements. If all DEF100 positions are filled and there are suitable candidates still available, other AGO projects (with vacant roles) may utilise this round to fill their vacancies.
    The role involves the provision of ICT Systems Administration (Storage and Backup) to enable the efficient sustainment of current infrastructure and design of future backup and storage solutions within a complex environment spanning multiple geographically separated data centres and remote offices.

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Lead and provide guidance on developing new capabilities within existing datacentre and distributed storage environments.
    • Takes responsibility for the development of storage architectures for upgraded capabilities to ensure it meets business requirements.
    • Produces detailed design, configuration, implementation, and support documentation. Manages reviews of the benefits and value of other designs and integration challenges and recommends improvements.
    • Using storage management tools diagnose and resolve system and environment problems. Document the analysis of problem patterns and performance trends.  Establish capacity planning and management procedures.
    • Identify system interdependencies and liaise with other system stakeholders to resolve conflict and coordinate integrated solutions.
    • Provide guidance and direction to an integrated team to meet the prioritised schedule of work.
    • Establish and foster productive working relationships by working cohesively and flexibly with the developer team, the broader program team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.
    • Develop a schedule of work and report on progress.

    ​Other Skills and Knowledge:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of storage architecture and topologies.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of current storage technologies and solutions in classified environments.

    SFIA Skills Required:
    • STMG 5 (Primary)
    • SYSP 5 (Desirable) 
    • ITOP 4 (Desirable)
    • CHMG 4 (Desirable)

    Security Clearance:
    Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential. ​

    • Provide support in the design and implementation of the future storage and backup strategy and technology refresh across multiple environments for highly classified networks.
    • Develop and document System Security Plans (SSP) for Storage and Backup systems.
    • Provide systems administration and support for the management of the existing Storage Area Networks (SAN) in conjunction with future storage and backup requirements.
    • Provide support to resolve Service Request and Incident tickets in the Storage and Backup Services queue.
    • Work as part of a team to manage incidents, problems, continuous services improvement and workflows to meet deadlines.
    • Contribute technical knowledge and industry best practice to a customer focused, security enabled global ICT platform.
    • Engage and liaise with assigned project representatives and other support teams regarding storage and backup deliverables.
    • Comply with internal administrative and Standard Operating Procedures.

    ​Other Skills and Knowledge:
    • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Storage Technologies from HDS, HP and NetApp.
    • Broad experience in the successful sustainment of Enterprise Storage systems that include Block, NAS and Object Store architectures.
    • Demonstrated experience with SAN networking technologies
    • Demonstrated experience with Windows Servers and operating systems
    • Demonstrated experience with Unix/Linux platforms
    • Demonstrated ICT Security experience or qualifications
    • Demonstrated experience with VMware
