    ​Role Description: The Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Cyber Enhanced Situational Awareness and Response (CESAR) program, aims to undertake a range of activities to make Australia the safest country in the world to connect and conduct business on-line:
    • Disrupt cyber crime
    • Persistent visibility of Critical Infrastructure IT network security
    • Cyber Threat Intelligence
    • Improved engagement across government, industry and community
    • Improved cyber situational awareness
    The System Engineering Manager will lead complex activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation. The successful candidate will plan, organise, integrate and deliver complex cyber security systems, services and products, whilst working cohesively and flexibly with the broader project team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.
    The System Engineering Manager will provide the CESAR program and sub-programs with the guidance through the development of Systems Engineering practices and the implementation of the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) & Test Engineering Management Plan (TEMP). Tailoring plans for frameworks and methodologies applied within the capability development lifecycle.
     
    The Capability delivered will enhance Australia’s National Cyber Security Capability.

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for leading Systems Engineering and related planning activities for all ACSC programs.
    • Within the context of a larger projects, assist Project Managers in the development of the SE components of schedules.
    • Ensure security compliance requirements are integrated in to Systems Engineering planning and design activities.
    • Identify and analyse project level engineering risks and issues, including aggregating subprojects’ risks to identify project level risks.
    • Implement a systems engineering process for Cyber Security and ICT systems, including management of requirements, specifications, design, integration and testing.

    Other Skills:
    • Experience in developing work breakdown structures and engineering schedules.
    • Knowledge or experience with ICT systems infrastructure, covering a range of physical and virtual environments.
    • Knowledge of information systems security principles, practices and technologies.

    Other Features: The roles are primarily Canberra based, within minimal travel, however the ability to self-transport between local sites in the most efficient means is required. There may be some overseas and domestic travel required for one of the roles.

    ​​Security Clearance: Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential. 

    Core Hours: Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day between the hours of 7am and 7pm, unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30 minute break after 5 hours consecutive work.
