Role Description:
The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is a statutory agency in the Defence portfolio that defends Australia against global threats and advances our national interests through the provision of foreign signals intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations as directed by the Australian Government.
ASD requires an IT Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day installation, setup, and on-going maintenance and support of IT Systems, products, and related documentation for ASD’s Gemini program.
The Gemini Program is a lower-classification on-boarding, training and work program designed to uplift analyst capability across the spectrum of ASD missions. It underpins ASD's capacity to meet significant growth over the next decade through delivering a successful Low-side Pathway and foundational analytical skills.
The Gemini Program requires a technical specialist to deliver and sustain core technical capability to support the Gemini Program across Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne.
Job Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
Design and deployment of IT hardware, software and services as required.
Account provision and general IT product support.
Provide ad hoc technical advice and troubleshooting for end users
Contribute to essential 8 compliance and security certification/accreditation related activities
Systems documentation
System Administration
Communications Room/Desk Patching.
Printer management.
Laptop management (Imaging, patching, managing asset loan registers, help with other laptop issues)
IT experience (software, hardware, network infrastructure)
Ability to design and maintain IT system solutions
Ability to provide day-to-day support to technical and end users
Network administration (Switches and firewalls)
Network Security skills
Linux and Windows OS and server administration skills
System administration
Laptop Management (WDS and imaging skills)
Good understanding of the ISM and ACSC’s “Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents”
