Requirements:
The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is a statutory agency in the Defence portfolio that defends Australia against global threats and advances our national interests through the provision of foreign signals intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations as directed by the Australian Government. ASD requires Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Engineers to work in support of the ASD cloud migration strategy on complex engineering work within an integrated workforce. This role consists of a number complex task in support resiliency and scale cyber effects. The AWS Cloud engineer will facilitate and assist ASD's migration to of cloud platforms in a timely and mission prioritised manner
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Architecting and designing AWS infrastructure solutions to meet the organisation technical and business requirements
Collaborating with cross-function teams to optimise AWS services for cost performance, security, and reliability, while adhering to best practices and compliance standards
Coordinate with senior leadership and Technical Directors to achieve key deliverables per REDSPICE guidelines
Assist with adoption and adaptation of the end-to-end iteration of AWS Cloud development, delivery and management during design-time and run-time based on the context of the work and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
Advise and integrate approved security capabilities and work with the security specialists to fine tune and document.
Produce detailed service design specifications to form the basis for the realization of AWS cloud-based service solutions. Reviews, verifies and improves own designs against specifications.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
At least 5 years’ experience in Amazon Web Services Cloud Engineer
Strong leadership experience and skills in Amazon Web Services
Other Requirements:
Candidates require an AGSVA NV1 to perform the role. ASD will not sponsor candidates to upgrade their security clearances.
The successful candidate will work 5 days per week and up to a maximum of 40 hours per week, unless otherwise agreed with their manager. The role is Canberra based. Information on ASD’s Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) An OSA is an ASD policy requirement for contractors who will be engaged for a period in excess of 12 months and are conducted to determine a person’s suitability to work in ASD. The OSA requires a psychological assessment, which involves a questionnaire and an interview. Introduction and Background

The System Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration, testing and documentation of engineering subsystems under general direction and guidance. They will be required to work across a variety of disciplines including mechanical design, thermal design and modelling, ICT infrastructure, ICT security and embedded systems development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Implement network design on Cisco and Juniper platforms
Linux development, which may include developing and configuring a Linux environment, installing operating systems and maintenance
Using Python, Puppet and Ansible to enhance and support automation and continuous deployment
Monitor systems and infrastructure
Translate logical designs into physical designs
Design, support and update technical documentation, including SOPs and detailed design documents.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrable experience working with virtualisation technologies
Demonstrable experience monitoring and actioning security alerts and incidents
Ability to maintain and upgrade device software, firmware versions, racking, cabling and labelling of current and new infrastructure
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
Ability to deploy hosting platforms in a scalable and sustainable method
Ability to patch and upgrade existing hosting platforms to improve security standards

Introduction and Background:

An experienced Software Developer is required for the development of complex programs, integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software; documenting technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop complex programs using a variety of languages (e.g. Python) and development environments to achieve a well engineered result
Deliver scripting using a variety of languages (e.g. JavaScript) and secondary skills (e.g. SQL)
Develop software that provides high quality User Experience outcomes
Adhere to software engineering processes and contribute to software engineering process improvement
Assis with planning and prioritisation activities and tasks, applying technical expertise and advice on aspects of system development and integration
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Role Description:
The Application Support role is critical to the Department and we are looking for experienced and passionate technologists to join our team. The Application Support Specialist will provide technical expertise in the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of application software such as HR/Finance systems, Case Management Systems, collaboration and communications, office automation products and other bespoke software. The role will involve working with business stakeholders, project managers, system architects, software developers and testers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to and manage activities for planning, development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications. ASUP.
Participates in improvement and enhancement of Departmental methodologies. Assists in the continuous improvement processes by developing and enhancing procedures. PBMG, BPRE, PROG.
Supports and maintains enterprise applications throughout the lifecycle. ASUP, HSIN.
Work collaboratively with teams of technology specialists, software developers, security professionals and systems administrators, both within the Department and with industry.
Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports. ASUP, USUP.
Contributes to application documentation including but not limited to SOPs, user guides, technical documentation, and reporting. ASUP
Interprets and ensures compliance with legislative policy and regulatory frameworks
Mandatory Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant software development or application administration experience
