    Job details
    ASD requires an EL1 equivalent Security Systems Engineer to fill positions with Government Uplift’s Cyber Security Remediation Program (CURP). Systems Engineers are subject matter experts required to provide advice, design, implement, and remediate security controls across a suite of technologies for multiple external Australian Government entities, ranging across a number of systems.

    The Security Systems Engineer will be a highly organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individual with excellent communication skills.  They contribute specialist technical and cyber skills, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) to Government entities.

    ​They will have in-depth knowledge of the service delivery function and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work within that function. They will engage in very complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for the agency. They will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.

    This role will include responsibility for implementation and maintenance of various ICT Security Capabilities, which could include SIEM, SOAR, Vulnerability Management, Data Pipelines, CDS, On premise Infrastructure, Cloud and/or Storage.
