Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team of innovators who are passionate about building and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure systems. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our technology stack, from infrastructure to applications, and collaborating with development teams to improve the overall quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Ansible and CloudFormation.
Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts, monitoring tools, and logging systems.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with infrastructure and tooling.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD
Ensure system security, compliance, and governance by implementing and maintaining security controls, access controls, and auditing mechanisms.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources using ElasticSearch tools such as APM, Beats and Kibana dashboards.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including infrastructure diagrams, deployment guides, and troubleshooting guides.
Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews.
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in DevOps, software development, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible, and CloudFormation.
Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Azure.
Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git and BitBucket.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Highly Desirable:
Experience with modern software development practices (particularly Kubernetes-based container deployments) will be an advantage.
Security Clearance:
Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.
Core Hours:
Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day, between the hours of 7am and 7pm unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30-minute break after 5 hours’ consecutive work.
Part-time arrangements will not be considered.

Role Description:
The PKI Technical Specialist will work within the Integrated Solutions Section in the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD).
The PKI Technical Specialist will work collaboratively with other technical staff on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and associated software to ensure that objectives satisfy business needs by providing a clear, efficient and logical approach to new work.
The PKI Technical Specialist will contribute to design activities to achieve organisational objectives for ICT identity authentication and authorisation environments industry standard software development and deployment tools
Major Responsibilities:
Review current Entrust PKI services, document and as part of a team enhance current Enterprise PKI Certificate services and rationalise certificate authority infrastructure.
Provide ICT system administration for ICT systems, specifically focussing on enterprise identity and access management systems PKI infrastructure
Integration and automation of current PKI infrastructure with the corporate identity management software.
Plan, document, develop and integrate software using a DevOps methodology to assist with automation of key identity and access management capabilities.
Other Skills:
Knowledge of corporate directories, authorisation and authentication services, including technologies, protocols and languages such as: Public Key Infrastructure, cryptography, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is considered advantageous.
Demonstrated experience in authorisation services, including identity management software is considered advantageous.
Demonstrated experience in Unix / Linux system administration is considered advantageous
Demonstrated experience and understanding of ITIL processes and procedures is considered advantageous
Knowledge of networking and protocols, particularly TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
Other Features:
The primary location of services will be Russell R5. There may be times when services will need to be provided at other locations within Canberra. Brisbane and Melbourne also considered.
There will be a requirement to undertake occasional planned work outside the core hours, preferably during a maintenance window.

Role Description:
The Software Developer will work as a member of a diverse delivery team that is responsible for a number of software products including Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) and custom build software solutions. This role will include all facets of the software development lifecycle and require members to design, develop, deploy, test and document solutions. The role will need proven software development skills and an ability to work within an integrated team of technical and non-technical personnel. The Software Developer will mentor junior developers, requiring them to provide direction on best practices and design principles in order to produce a performant, secure and sustainable solution.
Major Responsibilities:
Lead the development of software that supports high quality User Experience outcomes.
Contribute to and support leadership efforts to improve engineering processes.
Identify system interdependencies and liaise with other system stakeholders to resolve conflict and coordinate integrated solutions.
Maintain and update engineering and maintenance documentation in order to incorporate system design changes.
Support productive working relationships by working cohesively and flexibly with the developer team, the broader program team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.
Take technical responsibility for the design and implementation of JavaScript based applications using Express and React.
Take responsibility for the design and implementation of automated tests using various tools. For example: Selenium, Locust or Mocha.
Other Skills:
Demonstrated ability in the use of Containerisation solutions such as Kubernetes or Docker swarm to deliver an enterprise solution.
Demonstrated ability in the use of configuration management tools and/or infrastructure as code scripting languages For example: Ansible.
Demonstrated a high level of experience in NoSQL and SQL database solutions. For example: ElasticSearch, MongoDb, Oracle or MS SQLServer.
Proven experience in both Windows and Linux based administration.
Other Features:
The role is based in Canberra with limited travel within Australia possibly required.
