Role Description:
JP2289-1 is a rapidly growing 6-year project within ASD to build and uplift ASD systems and support organisation elements for the introduction of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, communities and tactical users into the information environment. Project activities include expanding the existing network, computing systems, complex gateway services, cloud services, mission services, data management services, and deployable systems. JP2289-1 is executing a highly innovate delivery strategy enabling multi-classification working and a partnership between the ASD and Defence enterprises.
To facilitate this project outcome, ASD has a requirement for an Audit and Security Engineer. The Audit and Security Engineer will be an organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individual with good communication skills. The Audit and Security Engineer shall support routine operational and system security management and administrative services requiring a combination of technical security and administrative expertise. This role will require working with business stakeholders, project managers, systems architects and other groups as required, to define and support solution delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
Work as a key contributing member of a highly diverse and fast paced team, supporting existing infrastructure and users.
Investigate security breaches in accordance with established procedures.
Perform non-standard security administration tasks and attend to security administration issues
Establish use cases, procedures and technical documentation to ensure delivery of security services.
Develop a schedule of work and report on progress.
Other Skills:
Experience in identifying and/or applying security controls.
Experience with security controls in cloud computing systems.
Good knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies.
Other Features:
This role is Canberra based with minimal travel however, the ability to self-transport between local sites in the most efficient means is required.
The role may require domestic travel.
There will be a requirement to undertake occasional planned work outside the core hours in support of maintenance activities and general support.
Security Clearance:
Must hold either a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Psychological Assessment (PA) preferred but not essential.
Core Hours:
Contracted personnel are to work no more than an average of 8 hours per day, between the hours of 7am and 7pm unless requested to do so by the Contract Manager, and must take a minimum 30-minute break after 5 hours’ consecutive work.
Part-time arrangements will not be considered.

Role Description:
The Cyber Security SME will provide specialist advice and support to the Department's ICT Sourcing Program. The Cyber Security SME will contribute to the Department’s future ICT Sourcing arrangements by ensuring that cyber security requirements are integrated in any sourcing transaction and align with the Departments ICT and Cyber Security strategy and direction. The Cyber Security SME will work as part of a leveraged team of technical, commercial, and service delivery specialists under the direction of the ICT Sourcing Program.
Essential Criteria
Demonstration of comprehensive knowledge of ICT and Cyber Security technologies and best practices by having 3+ years’ experience in similar role within a medium/large size organisation.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Cyber Security solutions (such as Security Operations Centres, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Department of Health and Aged Care July 2024 RFQ - DTA SON3413842 Page 3 of 3 vulnerability management, cloud and on-premise security technology) and services across large scale ICT delivery environments including within Government.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and documenting tailored cyber security requirements for managed on-premise and cloud ICT and cyber services. 4. Strong delivery and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
Desirable Criteria
Experience in implementing large scale Government ICT outsourcing arrangements, including experience in requirements development, tender evaluation, contract negotiation, and service implementation.
Relevant Tertiary or industry qualifications or equivalent assessed comparable overseas qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technologies, or Cyber Security.
Certification and/or membership to relevant professional organisations including certification in any of the following: CISSP, Security+, CISA, CISM, SABSA, GIAC and SANs.
Security Clearance:
