Role Description:
Provision of ICT Systems Administration (Storage and Backup) to enable the efficient sustainment of current infrastructure and design of future backup and storage solutions within a complex environment spanning multiple geographically separated data centres and remote offices.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide support in the design and implementation of the future storage and backup strategy and technology refresh across multiple environments for highly classified networks.
Develop and document System Security Plans (SSP) for Storage and Backup systems.
Provide systems administration and support for the management of the existing Storage Area Networks (SAN) in conjunction with future storage and backup requirements.
Provide support to resolve Service Request and Incident tickets in the Storage and Backup Services queue.
Work as part of a team to manage incidents, problems, continuous services improvement and workflows to meet deadlines.

Role Description:
This role is accountable under general direction to undertake complex server application and system administration activities, including managing day-to-day solution sustainment, incident and outage investigation and resolution, solution upgrade and patching, piplined solution deployment and configuration using scripting, CI/CD and orchestration tools. The technical environment includes management of Windows Server virtual machines for application hosting, various commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise information and IT-enabling applications, sensitive customer data management, PowerShell continuous delivery workflows, and security, backup and performance tuning for applications and supporting services. We implement, secure, support and iterate a portfolio of information management applications covering management of documents, records, knowledge, multimedia, tasks, workflows, ICT equipment, locations and people; and provide monitoring, data warehousing and analytics for these repositories. Staff work in a framework of legislation, principles and work practices including management of corporate information in accordance with the Privacy Act and compliance with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
Major Responsibilities:
Install, configure and sustain applications (monitor, test and apply patches and upgrades for) to ensure system integrity and security, adhere to change management processes in coordinating outages. Diagnose and resolve system and environment problems; implement break-fixes for diverse customers from individual users to system stakeholders, with a focus on creation of self-healing capabilities and automated testing, builds, deployment and provisioning of services for customers.
Configure, upgrade and extend applications to integrate additional customer requirements and support demand growth, and contributing to continual improvement of team release management.
Investigate and resolve access control and data security concerns, record investigation steps and outcomes as directed, configure and implement system features and fixes to resolve security issues and maintain good security, escalate to management as necessary.
Identify operational problems and investigate, analyse and resolve them. Role Description:
Reporting to the ICT Systems Manager, the ICT Systems Administrators are accountable under broad direction to manage the technical administration of a secure ICT system and associated applications. The ICT Systems Administrators will exercise a key role in technical and operational support of this critical system.
The ICT Systems Administrators will support complex or sensitive projects that impact on outcomes for Defence. Role Description:
This role is accountable under broad direction to initiate and undertake complex administration, integration and problem management of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) and Open Source information management applications in an operational linux environment of virtual machines and cloud infrastructure. Personnel will contribute both independently and collaboratively, and may coordinate or perform changes, outages, upgrades, patches, software development, business analysis and service delivery (support) functions including answering customer calls and performing Level 2 and 3 support after Service Desk triage of initial requests. Scope of responsibility includes the virtual infrastructure, management of diverse data sets and automated data processing, application and database security, configuring backups and performance tuning. Tasks may include rebuilding or rewriting parts of existing systems, scripted transformations of data sets and maintenance and improvement of automated processing scripts to ensure optimum system integrity. This role is expected to initiate improvements to services and take a leading role alongside Commonwealth staff in defining the technical strategic direction for services. The role may also undertake a deep level of root cause analysis for Problem Management, identifying and resolving complex issues or oversighting and taking a leading role in complex upgrades.
Security is a key factor for this section, with involvement from all members in identification, investigation and rectification of security concerns, and implementation, configuration and maintenance of system software to ensure optimal data security.

System Integration: conduct secure and robust transformations of existing data sets to meet environmental changes and business requirements; test software under environmental changes such as browser, proxy, firewall, network, load management and operating system changes; review, update and test software changes and patches to ensure system integrity and security, coordinate outages, draw on external resources as needed and provide specialist advice to colleagues.

Role Description:
The ICT System Administrator is accountable under general direction to undertake complex administration, integration and problem management of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software relating to monitoring and maintenance of ICT servers and software, primarily in relation to the Splunk product. Personnel will contribute both independently and collaboratively, and may perform changes, outages, upgrades, patches, software development, business analysis and service delivery (support) functions including answering customer calls and performing Level 2 and 3 support after Service Desk triage of initial requests. Scope of responsibility includes the virtual infrastructure, management of diverse data sets and automated data processing, application security, configuring backups and performance tuning. The role will identify and advise on improvements to services and take a collaborative role supporting Commonwealth technical leads to define the technical strategic direction for services. The role may also undertake a root cause analysis for Problem Management, identifying and resolving issues including upstream vendor support interaction, or taking a major role in complex upgrades.
Security is a key factor for this role, with involvement from all team members in identification, investigation and rectification of security concerns, and implementation, configuration and maintenance of system software to ensure optimal data security.
The Digital Workplace Services section enables Defence Intelligence Agency customers to securely create, manage and share corporate information. We implement, secure, support and iterate a portfolio of information management applications covering management of documents, records, knowledge, multimedia, tasks, workflows, ICT equipment, locations and people; and provide monitoring, data warehousing and analytics for these repositories.
Major Responsibilities:
Install, administer, monitor and maintain, and decommission, complex Linux technologies (Splunk, Ansible). Patch applications; diagnose and resolve system and environment problems, implement break-fixes for diverse customers from individual users to system stakeholders. Evaluate and implement software updates and environment updates such as cloud-based infrastructure. Identify and initiate improvements to architecture and configurations. Update system features or behaviour to meet customer needs as provided through requirements capture by other team members
Manage capabilities that maintain the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) while monitoring the environment.
Write and maintain operational and security documentation including System Security Plans, test/installation guides, change approval requests with change process plans and corporate knowledge summaries such as system diagrams and support procedures. Document daily work (steps taken, reasons and outcomes) to ensure transition of knowledge to the Commonwealth and to enable repeatability of procedures and compliance with relevant standards, including Commonwealth record keeping responsibilities
Provide administration with focus on scripted cross forest object migration, planning and coordination.
Other Skills:
